Batch 1 – Term 1 : Basic Grammar – Ism & Fragments

This introductory course provides students with a strong foundation in essential Arabic grammar. Learners will explore the concept of ism (nouns), including their types, characteristics, and grammatical functions within sentences. The course also introduces Arabic pronouns (ḍamāʾir), covering both independent and attached forms and their practical usage in everyday Arabic.

A key focus of the course is the study of Arabic noun phrases and fragments, particularly the iḍāfah (muḍāf–muḍāf ilayh) construction, enabling students to understand and form possessive and descriptive expressions accurately. Through clear explanations, guided exercises, and practical examples from classical and modern Arabic, students will develop the skills needed to identify, analyze, and construct basic Arabic grammatical structures.

By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize and use common nouns and pronouns, understand the rules governing iḍāfah constructions, and confidently read and interpret simple Arabic phrases and sentences.
