This advanced Arabic grammar course is designed for students who have already completed foundational and intermediate studies in Arabic and are ready to explore the finer details of the language. The course focuses on advanced grammatical concepts that frequently appear in classical Arabic literature, Qur’anic studies, Islamic texts, and formal Modern Standard Arabic.

Students will examine the various types of ما (mā) and learn how to identify their different grammatical functions based on context. The course also explores the types of إذا (idhā), enabling students to distinguish between conditional, circumstantial, and other usages. Special attention is given to the different forms and functions of لام (lām), providing students with practical methods for recognizing and interpreting each type accurately within a sentence.

In addition, students will study the rules and applications of Yā’ al-Mutakallim (ياء المتكلم), learning how it affects nouns, verbs, and grammatical inflection. The course introduces Ism al-Fi‘l (verbal nouns functioning as verbs), helping students recognize these unique forms and understand their meanings and usage. Students will also review and deepen their understanding of independent and attached pronouns, examining their grammatical roles and their relationship to other sentence elements.

Through detailed explanations, sentence analysis, guided exercises, and authentic examples from classical and contemporary texts, students will develop the ability to identify subtle grammatical distinctions and apply advanced grammatical principles with confidence. The course emphasizes practical analysis skills that strengthen reading comprehension and grammatical accuracy.
