Term 9 : Surah al-Fath – Nahw and Sarf
About Course
This intermediate-to-advanced Arabic grammar course offers a detailed study of the linguistic structure of Sūrah al-Fatḥ. Through a verse-by-verse analysis, students will explore the principles of Nahw (Arabic syntax) and Ṣarf (Arabic morphology) as they appear in the sūrah, gaining a deeper understanding of Qur’anic Arabic and its eloquence.
The course examines grammatical constructions, sentence patterns, verb forms, noun structures, particles, pronouns, and rhetorical features found throughout the chapter. Students will learn how grammatical rules contribute to the meanings of the verses and develop the ability to perform independent grammatical analysis of Qur’anic texts.
Special attention will be given to identifying syntactical relationships between words, analyzing verb conjugations and derived forms, understanding case endings, and appreciating the precision and beauty of Qur’anic expression. By studying authentic examples directly from Sūrah al-Fatḥ, students will strengthen both their theoretical knowledge and practical application of Arabic grammar.
The course is suitable for students who have completed foundational studies in Arabic grammar and wish to advance their understanding through the study of the Qur’an.
