About Course

This online Arabic grammar course offers a detailed study of Surah Al-Buruj through the lens of grammatical analysis (I‘rāb). Designed for students with a foundational knowledge of Arabic grammar, the course provides a practical opportunity to apply grammatical principles directly to the language of the Qur’an while deepening understanding of one of its powerful and eloquent chapters.

Throughout the course, students will perform a verse-by-verse analysis of Sūrah al-Burūj, identifying the grammatical roles of nouns, verbs, particles, phrases, and clauses. Each verse will be examined to uncover its underlying grammatical structure, helping students understand how words function within the sentence and how grammatical relationships contribute to meaning.

The course explores a wide range of grammatical concepts as they naturally occur within the sūrah, including nominal and verbal sentences, subjects and predicates, verb forms, pronouns, relative clauses, adjectives, objects, prepositional phrases, and various grammatical particles. Students will learn how to determine case endings, identify governing factors, and analyze sentence construction using the principles of traditional Arabic grammar.

Through guided parsing exercises, instructor-led explanations, and interactive discussions, learners will gain practical experience in applying grammatical rules rather than merely memorizing them. The course emphasizes developing the skills necessary to independently analyze Qur’anic Arabic and appreciate the precision and eloquence of its language.

By studying Sūrah al-Burūj in depth, students will strengthen their understanding of Arabic grammar, improve their ability to read and comprehend Qur’anic texts, and develop confidence in performing grammatical analysis of classical Arabic passages. This course is ideal for students of Arabic, Qur’anic studies, and Islamic sciences who wish to connect their grammar studies with direct engagement with the Qur’an and enhance their appreciation of its linguistic beauty.
