About Course

This introductory Arabic morphology (Sarf) course is designed for students who have learned the Arabic alphabet and basic reading skills and are ready to begin understanding how Arabic words are formed and derived. The course provides a structured introduction to the science of Sarf, enabling students to recognize word patterns, identify root letters, and understand how meanings change through different morphological forms.

Students will begin with an introduction to Arabic morphology, learning the concept of root letters (الجذر) and word patterns (الأوزان) that form the foundation of the Arabic language. The course then introduces the Ten Families (الأبواب العشرة), exploring the most common verb patterns and their meanings, functions, and usage. Through guided examples and exercises, students will learn how verbs are transformed into related nouns, participles, and other derived forms.

The course emphasizes practical application, helping students recognize morphological patterns in Arabic texts and develop the ability to identify relationships between words that share the same root. Students will gain a deeper appreciation of the structure of the Arabic language and improve their vocabulary acquisition through pattern recognition.

By combining clear explanations, interactive exercises, and regular practice, this course equips learners with the essential tools needed for further study of Arabic grammar, Qur’anic Arabic, classical texts, and Modern Standard Arabic.

This course is ideal for beginners who wish to build a strong foundation in Arabic morphology and develop the skills necessary to understand how Arabic words are constructed and interconnected.
